In Pakistan, the burning sun says goodbye at the start of July and it is the time to rejoice in the rain. In monsoon, we plan thrilling events, decide to visit tourist attractions, and design new outfits to look glamorous but it is also essential to keep skin health in mind. 

High moisture levels in July and August can result in many skin issues. Frequent breakouts, dullness, and clogged pores make our skin rough in this season. Following are some tips to keep your skin stunning, even in monsoon.  

1- Rinsing the face twice a day:  

Many skin problems arise due to a lack of proper removal of prior makeup. Use gentle soap or a good quality face wash for this purpose. It will cleanse the skin thoroughly and exfoliate the dead cells. Good sanitary conditions also lower the risk of acne. 

2- Use a suitable moisturizer:  

As we need oxygen to live, our skin also needs to breathe. Try a lightweight moisturizer, preferably one with a mattifying effect. Apply a thin layer of oil-free moisturizer before makeup. It will maintain the natural glow of skin. 

3- Primer always wins the race:  

Humidity is the real challenge in monsoons and to resist the effects, it is good to use a transparent primer over the moisturizer and right before the foundation application. Even when with waterproof makeup products, the primer is still necessary. It will cover the pores in the skin and give your skin a smooth texture. 4- BB cream for light makeup:  

For party makeup, use a single coat of an oil-free, feathery-light BB cream, instead of applying any foundation. Apply a finishing powder for a satisfying look. BB cream can secure both, the moisturizer that you have already applied and any other product that comes on top. 

5- Oil-Free concealer is promising for dark circles:  

Since the weather is going to turn humid and sticky, oil-based beauty products make your skin greasier and do not allow the make-up to set amid elevated humidity and sweating. To stay out of such a situation, try to limit the use of foundation and concealer on the face as much as you can. 

6- Dust up with the loose powder: 

If you experience base or foundation blotching, the best remedy is to use loose powder or similar products. They absorb the excess oil and moisture from the skin, giving the skin a fine matte-like look. However, do not overwhelm your skin with powder, as it will just melt off in high humidity. 

7- Use waterproof liner and mascara to lift those lashes:  

Waterproof mascara is more than just a need. It not only saves the makeup on rainy days but also gives a beautiful finish. Use a waterproof liner if you have to apply. The water-based liner tends to smudge during rainy days, which can spoil your entire look.  

8-Make the right lip choice: 

Glossy lips do not look attractive in rainy and windy weather. They can get a lot of dust stuck to your lips. You can opt for lightweight matte shades or a water-resistance lip tint. Always apply a balm before applying a matte shade. It is to keep the lips moisturized. If lipstick is your choice, apply a lip liner all over your lips before the lipstick to give it extra staying power. 

9-Choose cream products: 

Leave the powder products for another day. Makeup for rainy days stays much better if you use cream products. That means everything from eyeshadow to blush. Once you blend all the creams, they will look better even in the rain. One should invest in cream products in monsoon rather than powder products as they get wet and lead to ugly streaking. 

10-Trust Your Finishing Spray:

Keep the setting spray about 6 inches away from your face and spray in a downward motion. Refresh your makeup without any major touch-ups with just a spray of your finishing spray. So, never forget to keep it in your purse all day.
