4 Reasons Why The Big Bang Theory is a Lovable Show

Science jokes, a group of nerdy scientist friends, and the hangout spot — The Apartment, this is what The Big Bang Theory offers its viewers. TBBT is one of the lovable sitcoms that ran for around 12 years and has an immense viewership. But what makes this show so revered globally? Well, here are the top 4 reasons for the show's popularity:

1.Ensemble cast

The Big Bang Theory's casting team deserves a huge round of applause for casting Jim Parson, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim, and Melissa. Their adept performance and impeccable dialogue delivery made each episode worth watching.

2.Anti-Hero

Like every sitcom, TBBT has an anti-hero "Sheldon Lee Cooper." He takes up the whole room, and his friends have to deal with his quirks. But, despite Sheldon's bickering and inability to comprehend emotions like a Vulcan, it's his innocence that makes him the anti-hero and the adored character.

3. The Jokes

The entire series is packed with jokes that will hurt your stomach. These gags have references to science, comic books, and popular movies. This banter makes the show fun to watch. For example, here's a joke from the S06E06 that I loved:

  • Stephen Hawking: "Do you like brain teasers?"
  • Sheldon:" Oh, I love brain teasers."
  • Stephen Hawking: "What do Sheldon Cooper and a black hole have in common? They both suck!"

4.Classic Relationship

Just like Rachel and Ross's relationship — from Friends, The Big Bang Theory uses the same classic relationship tactic to hook their viewers. Watching Penny and Leonard, you are stuck thinking about whether they will get together or not, and the cycle continues. Until your favorites are finally together, and you are at peace. The show's creators used the Penny-Leonard relationship as a plot motion machine as it adds the element of suspense.

Summing Up

Even 3 years after the release of its last season, The Big Bang Theory still has a vast viewership. The sitcom's cohesive elements are the nerdy outcasts, light-hearted jokes, and camaraderie between the boys. I just finished Season 06, and I love it so far. I cannot wait to jump into the next season. So, consider adding TBBT to your watchlist if you are into comedy. And if you have already watched it, let us know in the comment section what you loved the most about the show.
