5 Facts That Prove Green Tea Is As Magical As They Say

 

Green tea, extracted from the leaves of  Camellia Sinensi, is one of the most popular and oldest healthy drinks in the world. It has been used as a medicine for thousands of years but people are only recently discovering the miraculous properties it possesses. 

Drinking green tea isn’t just refreshing but it is known to be one of the healthiest super foods out there. Loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, it is shown to improve health and prevent numerous diseases. There is a reason as to why people say green tea is magical. People all over the world have testified to the rejuvenating effects of drinking green tea. A research conducted in South Korea reported that those who drank green tea were less likely to develop depression than those who didn’t. Another study in Indonesia suggested that long-term consumption of green tea can reduce the risk of dementia, Alzheimer and Parkinson’s disease.

One study conducted over 11 years, examined 40,000 participants and found out that daily consumption of green tea lowered the risk of death from all causes especially those related to the heart.  

Some studies have shown that those who drink 3 to 5 cups of green tea a day have an increase in life span, decrease in heart diseases, decrease in strokes and all other cardiovascular diseases. Hence, it is safe to say that the amount of green tea consumed has a positive impact on longevity.

Drinking tea isn’t the only way to improve lifestyle. In recent years, green tea has been used to formulate many skin care and beauty products. Due to its therapeutic properties, it benefits the skin in multiple ways.

Green tea has been studied as a treatment for a variety of dermatological conditions, such as rosacea, psoriasis, acne, warts and even skin cancer. It fights premature aging with the help of vitamin B-2, which maintains collagen and elasticity of the skin. The anti-inflammatory ingredients reduce redness, acne and irritation. It also contains vitamin E, which hydrates and moisturizes the skin.
