DISCOVERING THE LOST CITY MOVIE

Comedy, action, thrill and romance, The Lost City provides them all. However, I will not categorize it as a very unique movie. Some parts are phenomenal while others are questionable. But the comedy-adventure duo can be justified as the movie does hold the audience but will you be streaming it again and again?? I don’t think so!

The Lost City review will be fair if I say that the movie holds nice dialogues, some funny other not-so-funny scenes, the action and a kind of predictable thrill. All added up to provide one good time entertainment but the movie fails to bring back the mainstream, old-fashioned comedy hits.

Cast gets 10/10

The movie stars Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, Brad Pitt, Da’Vine Joy and many more. Do you see why I am calling the cast 10 on 10?  All of these star actors give 100% to their characters. The cast is one of the main reasons to pull a large audience and rightly so.

Story was like 5/10

The Lost City is a story of romance novelist, Loretta (Sandra Bullock) who gets abducted by a crazy billionaire, Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe), during her book tour to promote her book, The Lost City of D. Her cover model, Alan (Channing Tatum), is in the rescue of Loretta. Both of them live a true adventure in a jungle. The reason for kidnapping is the search of the lost city as Abigail finds similarities in Loretta’s book and an actual lost city.

The performance of Bullock and Tatum bears the weight of the comedy part with funny lines and physical comedy on point. The first half is very well written with funny jokes and situational comedy. The adventure dominates the second half of the movie with the typical character transformation and events unfolding.

The movie is rated PG-13 for bloody images, violence, language and partial nudity.

The cinematography was sleek 7/10

Another point of perfection in the movie is the cinematography. The directors, Adam and Aaron Nee have perfectly shot the plot. The cinematography breathes life into the eventful adventure taking place. The island saga has been captured with flawless underwater scenes and wonderful cave scenes that resonate with the plot of the story and give life to the movie.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, if you are looking for a fun delight, stream The Lost City on Netflix and with some popcorn, you will have a nice evening. The chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum with both being sexy and silly stands out while Daniel Radcliffe holds an uneasy spot in my sight. You can’t be obsessed by the movie but with its cast performance and classy shots, it can’t be called a disaster.
