Don’t Look Up a political satire

Don’t look up, is the 2021 American political satire movie. It satirically describes a scientific fact being denied by the political leaders and then used this agenda to benefit the elite class of society. The Netflix original depicts a reality where a comet is headed towards Earth, resulting extinction-level event.
Plot
Mckay uses the plot-core of two astronomers, a professor at Michigan State University Dr. Randal Minty (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Dr. Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence) who were fast tracked to the white house after the discovery of the distinction-level comet heading towards earth to inform the president about the situation.
Mckay has described the modern society accurately, that how people instead of being tensed about the distinction of earth they are more concerned about the break-up of pop star Riley Bina (Ariana Grande) and rapper (Scott Mescudi). Randel and Minty begin their long, dragged-out attempt at getting any to notice; from political leaders to nescient president to the dismissive media.
Everyone at first ignores the fact and when they come to realize the truth, nothing can be done, elite class board the sleeper spaceship which was designed to find earth like planet but the humanity suffers with the strike of comet.

The movie is packed with the A-list cast; with acting heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence playing scientists who try to warn the world of an Earth-destroying comet heading for the planet.
The sci-fi comedy's cast is loaded with Oscar winners and nominees, from Meryl Streep and Jonah Hill, to Mark Rylance and Cate Blanchett, while the likes of Ariana Grande, Timothée Chalamet, Tyler Perry and Himesh Patel also appear.
Message conveyed by Mckay
Don’t look up review, reveals the facts that we live in a society that allows us to avoid the scientific fact and ignore the threat of our own self-destruction for rich people’s short-term gain.
The point of this movie was not to make best comedy but to reveal the harsh realities of our society. The movie seems more than a message than a movie itself, as context of the film is overpowered by the alarming climatic changes and the blatant reality of our society.
Success rate
Earning a rotten 55% critical score so far, the Netflix film earns at least an average 77% passing grade with audiences. The film made an estimated $260,000 from 500 theaters on its first day, and a total of $700,000 in its opening weekend
The movie collected number of awards, such as; AFI movies of the year, writers guild of America award for best original screenplay and many more.
Conclusion
In a nutshell, we are posed with a question by the writer that people don’t agree with experts, scientists, or the government much, even when the threat of the species is imminent. What's happened to us?
