The chaotic sequel was penned down by Mohit Suri and Aseem Arora. The action-thriller story revolves around love-a-holic, Bhairav and Gautam having one-sided love. One of them was a man with a rich heir while the other one was a taxi driver. The story gained its mysterious twist when Aarvi, Gautam's love, was abducted. 

This is when Gautam and Bhairav meet and a series of action and drama starts. Normally, there is a noticeable hero and villain in a story but this production of Mohit Suri is different. As far as the plot of this movie is concerned it is supposed to. be full of rising action and climax. But it is confusing for viewers. The reason is that it is full of sudden changes in the plot from present to flashbacks. Well, is this a movie thriller movie plot? 

Although the sequel has the same smiley mask villain, nothing is exciting like the previous one. Digging more into the plot gives us an idea that the plot is lacking in many aspects. The female leads comprise, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria. Disha Patani was seen spoiling the movie with her glamour and hotness. Disha has played many bold scenes in the movie. On the contrary, Tara Sutaria shows her cuteness all over the movie. No offense to any fan of stars, none of Ek Tha Villian 2 cast one was seen acting in the movie.

Mohit Suri does not realize that people expect his movie's songs that they listen to and remember over years. However, the songs in this movie are average. There is nothe thing special about their music and lyrics. Version 2.0 of the song, Teri Galliyan is not melodious and soothing as the previous one.

The cinematography of Vikas Sivaraman is magnificent. He captured many shots creatively that have created a good impact overall. Moreover, the production design of Rajat Poddar is in cinematic mode. On the whole, everything related to camera work, the use of colors, and filming were more than average.

The IMDb rating of the movie is 4.8 out of 10, which is very lower than expected. 

Besides this, the box office collected only ?63.57 crore, which is less than the budget for filming. Moreover, many fans of Ek Villain felt disappointed when they watched its sequel. Consequently, Mohit has lost many fans of his film in this direction.
