How to develop self discipline in life.

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

Self discipline is the greatest form of self love. But what does it really mean ?   It means to discipline oneself to do the right thing, in the right way at the right time. No one can become successful without self discipline. If you are struggling with self discipline and want to make it a daily habit. Then you should try some of these simplest and easiest forms of discipline to get started.

  • Wake up on time

This is the simplest way to get started. Set an alarm clock and try to get up at the same time everyday at least for a week. This way you can establish a routine for yourself and get synchronized with your body’s circadian rhythm.

  • Eat healthy

This sounds obvious but sometimes it can become difficult to practice everyday. Our body and mind are connected and if you don’t have a sound body then you can’t have a sound mind. You can start eating one healthy meal each day. Then you can go further. Eating healthy doesn’t mean that you can’t taste any processed sugar products. You can have that sweet treat once in a while but remember to maintain balance.

  • Move your body

I don’t use the word exercise as people get the idea of exercising only in the gym with heavy machines, lifting weights. But the main reason for exercising is to get your body moving. It can be fun as dancing, walking, cycling or any sports you want to play. Pick what suits you the best. Your body will thank you later.

  • Meet Deadlines

Make a habit of meeting the deadlines as it will not only establish self discipline in your life but also increases your self esteem, confidence and  gives you a sense of accomplishment, which will make you happy and less stressed.

  • Delayed gratification

On the road to achieving your goals and dream, you have to avoid temptations as these temptations can drag you down into the loophole of procrastination. Plan ahead the reward for yourself after the completion of each task. It can be as simple as listening to music as a reward once you submit that assignment. This way you will always have something to look forward to at the end of the day.

So, tell me: what one more habit you would like to add to develop self discipline?
