We all have some favorite quotes that we often use as an inspiration during tough times. However, there are some quotes that, whenever we read them, a certain feeling ignites within us. In some ways, it gives you a sense of alarm that you need to wake up and fight your guts to accomplish your goal. Naturally, even I have my favorite quote that helps me drive towards my goals. It is from Milton Berle, where she states:

“If Opportunity does not knock, build a door”

Here are my 5 reasons why this is my all-time favorite quote:

•  Sense of Responsibility

If you want your future to be bright then it is your responsibility to work on yourself and seek other possibilities that will help you in creating opportunities for yourself. If you are expecting that you will receive a silver plate while sitting and doing nothing then you are wasting valuable time. 

•  Opens the Door for More Opportunities

By creating opportunities, you are also automatically exposed to other opportunities, which in turn, will help you in networking with people. Whether you are networking online or attending social events, you will be able to meet people who will guide you and give you some advice that will help you achieve your goals. 

• Allows to Step Out of Comfort Zone

When it comes to building a door for opportunity, you will have to go a few steps further which means you will need to step out of your comfort zone. Remember, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty whereas a pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity.

• A Chance to Create Your Own Destiny 

Little did Bill Gates know that one day he would create the largest software company Microsoft or Mark Zuckerberg would create the giant social network app called Facebook. That is because they created their own destiny and no one told them to walk on this path. They worked on themselves to create and build the door of opportunity to be successful.

• The Ability to Make Your Own Decisions 

Being self-aware and having a strong mindset will allow you to make independent decisions, which will enable you to develop leadership skills. As a result, it gives you a chance to explore more opportunities.

Conclusion

Ever since I have stepped my foot in professional life, it made me realize that if you want to make your own mark, at the end of the day it is YOU who will have to create opportunities for yourself to excel in your life. It is you who will have to build a door to create the opportunity. So, if you want to create your own opportunities, now is your time to be your own hero. No one will come to you and say, “Hey! We want you to come and work with us”. NO! This will not happen every time.
