STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE

Early morning walks, a healthy diet, Yoga exercises and Mental health sessions, altogether give a healthy mind and healthy life. There are so many online definitions of what is considered a healthy lifestyle. So after some research, I present to you the components of a healthy life:

  • Spiritual wellness

  • Mental wellness

  • Social wellness 

  • Physical wellness

 

If you have all of the above, I guarantee you have a life everyone wants and maybe envies too. However, if you don’t yet have it, I can help you learn a few tips and advantages of these components individually so you get an idea of what component you are lacking.



COMPONENTS OF A HEALTHY LIFE

 

1. SPIRITUAL WELLNESS:

 

Spiritual wellness comes from our religion. Whether you are a Muslim, Christian, Hindu or from any other religion, spiritual wellness comes from indulging in the activities of the respective holy books and festivals.

 

TIPS FOR SPIRITUAL WELLNESS:

 

  • Try to focus on God and the Holy Book.

  • Try to pray as many times as you can and as many times as you should.

  • Try to be kind, gentle and caring towards your colleagues, family and friends.

  • Focus on good things.



2. MENTAL WELLNESS:

 

Mental wellness can be achieved by meditation and not stressing yourself out. Take a day or two off if you don't feel well mentally.

 

TIPS FOR A HEALTHY MIND:

 

  • Take fresh air whenever you feel low.

  • Seek therapy if things don't get better.

  • Meditate regularly.

  • Keep yourself busy and happy.

  • Find a new hobby.



3. SOCIAL WELLNESS:

 

Social wellness is nothing but socialising. We tend to ignore our social needs and social life when we are feeling low or whenever we have a crisis, be it financial or mental. This has to stop if we want to start living a life that is healthy and happy. 

 

TIPS FOR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES:

 

  • Plan hangouts every month.

  • Keep 3-5 friendly social groups.

  • Don't cancel plans based on your mood swings.

  • Go to festivals/events with different groups of friends.



4. PHYSICAL WELLNESS:

 

An exercise regime and a good diet are essential for physical well-being. There are so many advantages of a healthy diet and a proper exercise routine that one can write a whole article about it. Being in shape makes you confident and active towards your goals. However, obsession with weightlifting can lead to drug abuse (steroid injections) which can be really harmful for physical as well as mental health.

 

TIPS FOR A HEALTHY DIET:

 

  • Know the type of food you’re eating.

  • Take different foods in small portions ( fruits, veggies, meat).

  • Keep a calorie count. 

  • Eat different foods every day (to get all and every nutrition).

There are many ways to live a healthy life but if you’re a beginner trying to find something easy to do and still achieve a good life (like me) then this article must have given you a push to start because if you are not healthy, you are not living your life.
