Can you imagine staying thirsty in these hot humid summers? I cannot. Just like our body requires water to survive, our skin needs a perfect moisturizer to keep itself healthy and hydrated. Gone are those days when everyone in the family would use that one moisturizer on our mothers dressing table and leave for the day. Our needs have changed now due to the drastically changed climatic conditions owing to holes in ozone layer. Hence, we all require skincare whether we accept it or not. 

So, a few months back while scrolling through Instagram, I decided to create a skincare regimen for myself. But a shiver ran down my spine as soon as I saw the sky rocketing prices of skincare products especially moisturizers. So, I embarked on the journey of searching effective and affordable options easily available in Pakistan. Here are my top five tried and tested body moisturizers under 5k.

THE BEST BODY MOISTURIZERS UNDER 5k

Moisturizers must be chosen carefully by keeping skin type and weather conditions in consideration. So, here are the moisturizers that I chose to try according to my combination skin.

A)    MOISTURIZERS FOR SUMMERS:

Ø  NEUTROGENA HYDROBOOST WATER GEL LOTION

This one has been phenomenal for my combination skin in summers. Its gel like formula prevents excessive sweating after application and it has a SPF 30 which means no need for additional sunscreen. It is a powerhouse of hyaluronic acid to give a soft and well hydrated skin throughout the day. However, I found the quantity quite less and you might need to buy two for a month.

Ø  CONATURAL ULTRA BODY BUTTER

As this is a locally made product, I must admit I was not confident when I bought it. Fortunately, it exceeded my expectations. It is a fragrant creamy moisturizer that absorb easily on skin and its regular usage had helped me in reducing dark spots.

Ø  CERAVE DAILY MOISTURISING LOTION

Cerave products are usually sold out quickly because they are that good. Its lightweight body lotion is packed with hyaluronic acid and ceramides which makes skin soft and gives a healthier look

Price: PKR 2000/=

B)    MOISTURIZERS FOR WINTERS:

Ø  THE BODY SHOP JOY AND JASMINE BODY BUTTER:

I have not used it regularly but found this one great in terms of the fragrance and smoothness it provides after application. Even a small amount would do the job and provides a unique freshness.

Ø  VASELINE HEALTHY BRIGHT UV EXTRA BRIGHTENING:

I have found this one as the most effective in winters when all you need is lots of lotion for a dry skin. It is very economical and a simple moisturizer that you can apply before layering sunscreen. However, it did not work for me in summers especially in humid days.

CONCLUSION:

Conclusively, there are numerous options available, but I personally found Neutrogena the best for my skin type. Therefore, you might need to experiment with a few products to find the best one but once you do, it will surely be a treat for your skin.
