The Versatility Of Abayas: Redefining Modest Fashion

My wardrobe had only black Abayas a few years ago, lacking any glam. I stuck to the black Abaya code (oh it's dress code) for every occasion. No doubt black is a symbol of elegance but let's be honest— repeating outfits as a girl feels like committing a fashion crime. So, I decided to explore new ways and bring elegance through modest fashion. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that modesty can be stylish.  Abayas are my timeless choice—a perfect blend of fashion and modesty that never goes out of style. For casual, formal and religious gatherings, it boosts your confidence with a graceful look.

Black remains my all-time favourite for both office settings and formal occasions. But I don’t mind trying other solid colours such as brown, beige, grey, deep blue, and maroon. So, I suggest pairing a casual abaya with sneakers, a cross-body bag, a wristwatch, or a bracelet, and you’re ready all set!

Whether it's a wedding, a party or a Festive celebration, I opt for Abayas that maintain modesty. Selecting an Abaya for these occasions might seem tricky, but trust me! It's no rocket science. You go for jewel tones such as ruby, emerald green or sapphire in a luxurious fabric like silk or chiffon, adorned with embroidery and sequins. Accessorize with dainty jewellery, hold a fancy clutch and step into high heels for an extra royal entrance look (aka princess look).

Go-To Abayas For Social Gatherings:

After a hectic routine, a complex project or finishing exams, hanging out on a coffee date with friends, is my go-to plan. My wardrobe, once again, doesn’t disappoint me here. Often, I style an inner dress with a front-open long cardigan, a kimono-style Abaya, or a classic wide-sleeved Abaya. In winter, lightweight short cardigans and cape shawls also add charm.
