AHHHH!!! THE FINALE. The emotional damage is real. I know I'm not alone in feeling the heartbreak for Heedo and Yi Jin.  Despite their deep affection, the practical challenges and growing personal goals lead to their mutual decision to part ways and we really can't blame either side. 

But, I suppose that’s the whole point of the drama —showing us that sometimes, no matter how much we don't want it, we have to make tough decisions, and sacrifice to reach our goals.

FINAL VERDICT:

Despite the ending, 2521 is a true masterpiece. The characters, cinematography, soundtrack, and storytelling are all spot on. It is both heart-warming and heart-wrenching, and that's what makes this drama stand out by beautifully carrying opposite emotions.
