Why Is Sunscreen Important

The benefits of sunscreen go beyond protecting your skin from sun. Sunscreen is extremely important for people of all ages. It's crucial to add sunscreen into your skin regimen daily for maintaining healthy skin. Skipping sunscreen can leave your skin vulnerable to sun damage, premature aging and an increased risk of skin cancer.

How Sunscreen Helps!

Sunscreen combines organic and inorganic chemicals to filter the light from the sun so that less of it reaches the deeper layers of your skin. Like a screen door, some light penetrates, but not as much as if the door wasn't present. Sunscreen on the other hand, reflects or scatters the light away so that it doesn't reach the skin at all.

When Do You Need Sunscreen?

Everyday! Around the clock!

Not just when the sun is shining! Because UV rays have the same intensity on sunny, cloudy or winter days. Even it's important to wear sunscreen indoors also because UV rays can pass through glass windows, so it's important to wear sunscreen inside your home also.

Types Of Sunscreen

There are three different types of sunscreen: chemical, physical and hybrid.

Chemical Sunscreen:

It absorbs into the skin to activate, it can cause irritation to sensitive skin and has minimal to no white cast.

Physical Sunscreen:

It sits on top of the skin's surface and reflects UV rays, it is great for all skin types even for sensitive skin also. It usually has white cast.

Hybrid Sunscreen:

It has component of both physical and chemical sunscreens. They are great because they offer the same coverage as a chemical sunscreen and is light like a physical sunscreen but isn't chalky or irritating on sensitive skin.
