Your Money vs iPhone13. Whats more valuable?

iPhone 13: Is it Worth The Money?

After much delay, Apple iPhone 13 finally dropped on September 24, 2021. It is the fifth consecutive year that Apple has been amongst the top 3 of the worlds best mobile phones. iPhone 13 bags first position for the year 2022. It is no surprise that this new Apple product has an expensive price tag. Roughly it can cost around $799 to $1099

Let us review iPhone13, so that you may decide if its worth your money or not.

PROS:

1) Physical Upgrading

It maintains its trademark of flat edges, mute color range, and a bulge at the camera bump. However, here are a few upgrading that make it distinct from the iPhone family:

6.1 inches screen
Super Retina XDR display is 28% brighter
3227 mAH battery
Brighter display in sunlight
20% smaller notch
Bigger sensor
telephoto ability

2)Software Upgrading

Every latest device is expected to be better, faster, and more efficient. It does satisfy that condition. Overall, there is not much added to its functionality. Nonetheless, the iPhone 13 camera result is the highlight. Following are the software upgrades:

Fastest A15 Bionic chip
Refresh rate 120 Hz
128GB memory
Macro cinematic photography in low lighting

CONS

It is common human behavior that when buying expensive gadgets, we look for their flaws more than their benefits. Unless the buyer is a technology freak and wants to get his hands on the latest devices at all costs.

Iphone13 has upgraded its existing top-notch features but has not introduced any of the following new features that could make the whole experience more convenient:

No fingerprint sensor
Apples Face ID facial recognition feature fails with a face mask that has become an integral part of our lives.
No USB-C port, even though Apple has introduced it to other products. This means carrying multiple chargers is inevitable.
Notch space. Though it has been reduced to 20%, it still exists, unlike its competitor phones.
A pink screen issue was reported by a few users, that requires the phone to restart
Its not a charging pad for smaller Apple devices.
No always-on display.

Is It Worth Buying For Existing iPhone Users?

The biggest catch of getting the iPhone13 is better battery life, more storage, an all-new green color option, and advanced camera features.

The iPhone13 camera has the same hardware as the 12 series, True Depth front, and a 12MP dual rear camera. However, it has a bigger sensor allowing 47% more light in. This ensures sharper, brighter images even in low lighting. It also has 3x which is 0.5 more ability to zoom in.

iPhones do not have the option of external memory. Therefore, 128GB of memory is a feature that can give the predecessors a run for the money.

Physically minor tweaks in size, resolution, and weight are almost not considerable. Technically machine learning ability is notably improved. However, the A15 bionic does not offer a drastic performance upgrade. This technology only proves to be beneficial for having a better gaming experience.

Now the big question arises. Should an existing iPhone user switch to iphone13 for the new specifications? It depends on the model one has. It does promise a dramatically better user experience for those having an iPhone9 or below series. However, users of the 10 and above series may struggle to find value for money.

For both existing and new iPhone buyers, the 12 series gives tough competition to the 13 series. With not-so-radically better features it does cost you an extra $100 to acquire the latter one.

Is It Worth it for android users?

There is not a single feature of Iphone13 that Android has failed to include. On the contrary, there are 5 features (listed under CONS) that iphone13 is missing-out.

Here are phones that have very similar features, rather with add-ons, for equal or less price, which suggests that the iPhone 13 is not one of its kind:

Samsung Galaxy s22 series
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
Asus Zenfone 8
OnePlus9
Google Pixel 6 series
Conclusion

So is this new phone worth buying? iPhone13 reviews based on user experience suggest that the buying decision does not depend on its characteristics alone. Since it does have alternatives available and is not a next-generation model amongst the iPhone family, it comes down to personal preference and brand loyalty.
