Having self-awareness is nonetheless a crucial part of Human Development. This is because our greatest battles are the ones fought within. Therefore, self-Awareness not only helps you gain a newer perspective in life but also helps in realizing your worth and feeling good within your skin.
In the simplest of terms, Self-awareness means getting to know your true nature. Those who practice this are seen as people with complete solutions to a finite problem. Human nature is, at best, described as a primal being changing, thriving to evolve and be a better version of itself.
William James said humans love being appreciated: "The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated." Unfortunately, this longing sometimes becomes toxic and can lead to many evils. Self-Awareness is a bridge that helps humans find the balance between themselves and nature. Self-Awareness is challenging to practice but not hard to follow. Two or three things impact an individual's mindset a lot, making it challenging to look for self-awareness.
1. Being a Pessimist:
Whether it's being dark-minded for the kind of job you have, the people you have in your life, or your life makes you grow distant from your set goals and aspirations and often leads to otherworldly evils. But on the other hand, having a clear mind and focused positive energy allows the person to be active and explore themself more.
2. Procrastinating:
This evil has the entire world in a dilemma. Procrastination not only limits your thinking and cognitive abilities but also slows you down, making you vulnerable to many external and internal threats.
3. The Blame Game:
Tossing your mistakes on to others is a grave mistake in itself. People who consciously know themselves do not make such mistakes and become the zen masters. These individuals, who often use the "blame game" as their defense mechanism, are often at a heavy loss.
Self-awareness, once achieved, can do wonders for an individual. It helps create a more focused approach toward life. People who are fully aware of themselves tend to be more open to the possibilities of rejection, denial, and expulsion. They take it up as a challenge to improve themselves for their good. In daily life, self-awareness makes a person more active, fully aware of their conscious surroundings, less agitated, more humble, and most of all, productivity increases the individual, which is a good milestone in achieving capability.
